Today's Best Apps: OddPlanet And Wordgenuity Trivia Word Jumble

The App Store takes delivery of hundreds of new apps per day. The overwhelming scene makes it possible to easily overlook an exciting game, valuable productivity suite, etc. However, we have a solution. Today’s Best Apps tackles this problem by providing you with a handpicked and tested list of apps that are truly worth your consideration each and everyday.

Remember: Even though in-app purchases typically require your iTunes Store password for processing, you can further prevent them and other unauthorized actions by enabling local restrictions using the passcode locked iOS parental controls.

Universal:

OddPlanet by Piotr Krol ($0.99, 76.5 MB): Inspired by Limbo and Oddworld, this platform-puzzler stars a young girl who has landed on a strange planet for unknown reasons. After leaving the pod-shaped vessel, the lone character begins to investigate. Now under your control, the girl traipses through a dim forest-like environment with creatures, plants, and other items that somewhat resemble those on Earth, yet seem peculiar. During the adventure, there will be plenty to observe and avoid, including aggressive and harmful lifeforms, deadly ponds and chasms, charming luminescent beings, and rough terrain. The environment is your only tool, therefore, caution, alertness, ingenuity, and reflexes are essential for survival. The game features beautiful silhouetted graphics, atmospheric soundtrack, auto-save checkpoints, various play mechanics dealing with realistic physics, as well as a four button control system: fast walk directional, careful step / interact, and jump.

iPad:

Wordgenuity Trivia Word Jumble by Joshua Seales ($1.99, 12.5 MB): Test your knowledge of popular names, places, and more from music and movies to history and literature in this challenging trivia and word jumble game. For each triple question quiz, you’re provided the answers in the form of scrambled words, which is certainly a tiny hint. To increase difficulty, there are three levels of letter mixing. Easy to begin, the first type involves randomizing the letters of each word separately. Taking things to a moderate difficulty, next is reordering the letters among all of the words in an answer. Of course, the final type is randomly swapping letters of every word of the quiz. The game features 11 categories with 30 quizzes each for a result of 990 total questions, plus a hint system.
